You can put your car in park and slowly turn your steering wheel in both directions, and if you feel the vibrations in a specific spot, it's likely your drive belt that is connected to the steering system. One common symptom of power steering failure is a steering wheel that is difficult to turn. This can be caused from a variety of things, ranging from leaks to a lack of power steering fluid. A worn power steering pump can also cause your wheel to tighten up. If the steering wheel slips when you attempt a turn, this is not a good sign either.
